Interview with Dr Garlick

Dr Simon Garlick has been a General Practitioner in Auckland for the last 20 years.  Here I talk with him on the distinction between appetite and hunger, on mis-coding of food related sensations, and on food addictions, along with other topics.

Contraindicated in:

  • Overweight

  • Pre-diabetes

  • Type 2 diabetes

  • Gastritis

  • Rheumatoid arthritis

  • Ulcerative Colitis

  • Crohn's disease

  • Graves' disease

  • Other inflammatory conditions

  • Anorexia nervosa

Caution in:

  • Severe depression

  • Chronic fatigue

Do you get hungry much?

No: Why do you eat then?

Yes: Are you hungry now?

Yes: Where do you feel it?

No: If you were, where would you feel it?
